proph necro
Hey guy
Once again I only have Prophecies.
I really like the necro line, I just cant find a build I like. I dont like minion builds. I just want something quick and simple, preferably a blood build. I would like to have a damaging char that can take some too. Your help is appreciated and may all you necros suck blood or kill things or whatever you do. Rock on

Solid Blood Build
Here is a solid blood build I used in my days of only owning Prophesies. I don't know how to use the editor to make the skills show up so here is the code for the build.
OABCQsxQbZaGn+9GXCA
I hope that helps. Sorry I can't figure out the skill images. The build centers around health pips and life stealing. Start by using Awaken the Blood to add a little extra punch. Then make sure you always have Life Siphon on something (for the extra 3-4 pips of health) and use your life steal skills at will. Life Transfer is for when you need a lot of health regen or when you need to kill bosses quicker. Well of Blood is great when you are with heroes/henchies and are fighting large mobs. Good Luck.

These are pretty much all the elites you could use in prophecies.

[order of pain][dark fury][well of power][blood renewal][protective spirit][aegis][convert hexes][resurrection signet]
Maybe you can take Convert and Aegis out for some direct damage Blood Magic skills, but that skill line is kinda sub-par outside of Order of Pain and Dark Fury.
If you're not completely firm on Blood Magic, I suggest the following:
[spiteful spirit][enfeebling blood][barbs][desecrate enchantments][insidious parasite][draw conditions][plague sending][resurrection signet]
Maybe it can be tweaked but whatever.

[skill]Aura of the Lich[/skill][skill]Animate Bone Horror[/skill][skill]Blood of the Master[/skill][skill]Death Nova[/skill][skill]Taste of Death[/skill][skill]Enfeebling Blood[/skill]
If you're the lazy type, you can take out Nova + Taste. If you do decide to use those well though, it can easily outdamage SS. The 2 best things Curses have is Enfeebling Blood and Barbs. I wouldn't use Barbs in this build though - need to spec into it pretty high for it to be useful. Enfeebling Blood works well at a low rank. For the last 2 skills, add a Res and somethin else...

How far through the game are you? If you've got minimal skills unlocked on the account and little or no access to elite skills then we can't be of much help until you play through a bit I think.

For a solid, easy to use build, I'd go with the above, but using a Hard Res instead of the signet.

Please do not use any of the trash elites mentioned in this thread. You have only got Prophecies and there is only one decent elite for you, Spiteful Spirit. Use that. Do not use Draw Conditions/Plague Sending combo, it looks neat but in effect it will only confuse you.
Please, people... don't tell newbie necromancers that running Life Transfer in PvE is a good idea... or Well of Power.
Finishing off... THIS IS GENERAL ADVICE ONLY.

blood magic is a waste of time, not even worth fiddling with.tyla's [spiteful spirit] build is pretty much spot on,thats all core skills or prophecies only and is more than effective
stay away from blood and gl

Getting past these phases is good. Draw Condi / Plague Sending is a non-elite offensive RC that is kinda like Foul Feast / Plague Sending.

No pun intended, but I didn't really understand that much; I'm assuming you mean the usage of the build.
Basically...
SS on anything that moves, preferably faster hitting enemies.
Enfeebling Blood on the most dangerous and damage dealing enemy you see.
Draw / Plague conditions off your party.
Barbs on anything getting hit by physical attackers. You're best off buying a perfect caster spear for it. (+5E, +30hp mods)
Insidious Parasite on anything that attacks; it's mainly for the damage but the healing is a nice bit.
Defile Enchantments is basically more of a nuke skill. Smash the skill on enemies that your party is focusing on.

Sure, it's good to get past those phases, but... two things...
One, he only owns one campaign and he's clearly not too experienced. Asking him to target-switch enemy/ally without mupping it up is probably not best.
Two, you devote two slots to a combination that will only be useful if your party encounters conditions that pose a problem... and this is Prophecies NM, not exactly rocket science...
All in all I'd prefer giving him a straight attacker curses build.

The margin of failure possible in PvE is minimal, and you are forgiven for even huge mistakes. If you're new and you aim to become better you should be doing things like this.

No conditions = awesome. Just because it's Prophecies NM doesn't have anything to do with your skill level, and it's best to improve as much as you can. Especially those icky deep wounds, cripples, blinds and such. Besides, it's also offensive and it's not exactly like you're going to get some Ranger D-Shot your Plague Sending, is it? Give those enemies the conditions.

Then why didn't you add something to that yourself by saying what you'd replace those two skills with?

I've posted so many builds in threads like this and I was lazy.
Fine, fine...
[build prof=n/me curses=12+1+3 soulr=12+1 domin=3][spiteful spirit][mark of pain][barbs][insidious parasite][enfeebling blood][rend enchantments][cry of frustration][resurrection signet][/build]
That's what I feel a newbie curser should be comfortable doing... hexing, popping out an interrupt once in a while if needed, and stripping enchantments if he noticed the little "up" arrow on the enemy bar and his hexes have no effect.
If you need a cover hex on the bar, add Suffering or Parasitic Bond in place of, eh, Resurrection Signet.
